What do you need in affiliate marketing? Too much information out there, too many comparisons and research, too confusing and not sure which one is good to choose?
Let me list down the things I have been doing here and I will make sure it is easy for you to pick up and do the same here.
One-stop solution, 6-steps below:
Step 1. Niche Topic / Idea
What is the first blog post ideas do you have? What do you want to share with people and what topic you think you can go on and on to provide information or solutions for people? It can be any topics, personal blog ideas like, how to train your dog? Everything about your pet. You can talk about food, their toys, their grooming. How to maintain your car, how to grow more hairs, how to whiten our teeth, under beauty category, or skincare, hair care. From there you can promote related products like consumer products, or supplements, or digital e-book.
If you need more ideas, you can go to Amazon.com > Book category, to search what other topics that you maybe can explore, whereby Amazon book department has listed down topics or categories that we might miss or forget.
Step 2. Domain Name (Branding)
You need a Domain Name, which is an online name for your website/blog so that people know where to locate you on the internet world. You can get a dot com URL, for example, Https://www.Yourname.com, at Namecheap you can easily get affordable URL, I have been their client since 2014, their service always been good and responsive. As you can see above, prices can be as low as $8.88/yr, if the name is available and not being used yet.
Name suggestion would be anything easy to remember and not too long and bad spelling. For example, Apple.com, if you spell AAple.com, people will not able to remember how to spell the AAple or Aplle, you will miss out on a lot of potential business.
howtoloseweight.com, bemindful.com, howtotrainmypuppy.com
how-to-build-more-muscles.com (too long with hyphens), supergreedymomanddaughter.com, howtotrainyourdragonduringsummer.com
Step 3. Hosting (space for your website)
Once you have a brand name for your website, a URL as an address, then you a “place”, or space, to store your website. You need a good support hosting, that is able to provide you a fast technical support for your website.
I have been using Hostgator, good help and support, they provide 24/7/365 Support and Toll-Free numbers for you to call. They provide multiple hosting services, the more common ones are WordPress (build-in website creator) and also Gator Website Builder (drag and drop functions).
Step 4. IMPORTANT: Right targeted keywords
Keywords is the most important factor for your website to be index and to be listed on Google search, followed by Yahoo and Bing.
Without having accurate targeted keywords (keywords that related to your topic) on your web pages, people who are trying to search solutions on Google will not able to find you. Long story short, the free keywords tool, free keywords search tool that I am currently using is Jaaxy.
The tool will have data of Average search, traffic, QSR (Quoted Search Results), KQI (Keyword Quality Index) and SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
Good thing here, you can use Jaaxy for FREE, no time limit on the free plan. You can use as long as you want but limited to all the things below, which if you are a beginner, these are good enough to start:
- 30 Keyword Searches
- 20 Search Results
- Website Analyzer
- Affiliate Program Finder
- Keyword List Manager
- Brainstorm Idea Feed
- Keyword Competition Data
- 1x Speed
- Affiliate Program
- 30 SiteRank Analysis Scans
Step 5. Affiliate Partners (Commissions)
There are a lot of affiliate programs out there. If you are in the United State, Amazon will be a good start if you are selling consumer products. Clickbanks, Rakuten, you can find different categories of things there.
There are two kinds of products/services you can review and share.
1. Long term Courses / Services
Example: Learning courses, investment courses, design courses, threading, cooking, forex, etc.
Pros: Good commissions, courses can last longer, we don’t have to replace new update too frequently
Cons: These courses and services usually give good commissions, but the less favorable side of it is we have to do a lot of research, to make sure they are good and legitimate.
2. Short term Products / Services
Examples: Shampoo, skincare product, detergent, vacuum, juicer so on and on.
Pros: Easy to find products and access information to review, cheaper to buy, faster to see commission and result
Cons: Lower commissions, new products/models release sooner, and we have to review more often.
Step 6. Social Media Accounts (Engagement)
After all, this is the daily routine we do is to share them on social media. I believe by now we all will have either of one of these social media accounts:
You can choose to focus on some, you don’t have to have them all and spend too much time on it. Remember to also share your post link, so that it is able to draw people who read them back to your homepage. Let the magic does it work from there.
